For the last year, the Galactic Webbing in its entirety has been combating an army of droids, called the Chorus, who raze planets and destroy infrastructure, killing humans indiscriminately and on sight.
The first recorded encounter with these droids was documented in a military report by imperial forces. While traversing an unregistered planet, a single, unarmed droid was found. It raised its hand up, in what imperial marines would later describe as ‘as though it were trying to wave.’ However, in an abundance of caution, shortly after it raised its hand, the troop’s Lance Corporal “swiftly dispatched the potential threat” and had its remains brought back for study.
The program being run on the droid was ‘Chorus v1.1.exe,’ which was later found to be the same executable running on the droids invading planets across the Webbing. As such, the threat was dubbed ‘The Chorus Crisis,’ and experts in the DUSC prioritised tracking the production facilities of the droid army that makes up The Chorus as well as tracking the remote connection that was giving direct orders to the droids. No one quite knows who is behind the armies, though at first, Atlas was blamed due to their excommunication from the DUSC and their technological advancement. They were quickly ruled out when it was discovered that Atlas had sustained considerable losses in invasions from The Chorus, and due to innovation and technology being the wheel-house of Atlas, the war between the DUSC and Atlas was resolved and they were re-inducted into the DUSC.
Today, the shadowy figures behind The Chorus still eludes the world’s efforts to find them, including what it is that might drive this group to condemn what is now millions and millions of victims to death.
